Helena Brisby is Professor of orthopaedics, Deputy Head of Institute for Clinical Sciences, Sahlgrenska Academy at Gothenburg University and Senior Consultant at the Spine Unit, Department of Orthopaedics, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, both in Gothenburg, Sweden. Prof. Brisby, as part of her training, spent a year (2003-2004) as clinical and research fellow at St George Hospital and the University of New South West, Sydney Australia. Prof Brisby is combining clinical work as spine surgeon with academic work and has published > 100 original papers. She has ongoing research in several subjects regarding spine related problems, including basic science studies, diagnostic MRI studies, clinical evaluation studies as well as registry studies.
