Wilco Peul is professor of Clinical Neurosurgery in Leiden since 2008 and chair of a cooperation of 3 hospitals in Leiden & The Hague (University Neurosurgical Center Holland). Besides his particular interest in reconstructive spine surgery and neurotraumatology, he is a certified senior PhD (cum laude) Epidemiologist. With regard to Spine Research he is a member of the Editorial Board of Cochrane Back Review Group since that time and since 2017 proud to be an active member of the Neurotraumatology and the Spine Section of WFNS. He is member of the EANS Neurotraumatology committee and served for 8 years for the Spine Committee responsible for the European training in cooperation with Eurospine until 2017. Currently he is president of the UEMS Neurosurgery section (EU, Bruxelles) on behalf of EANS. Since 2020 Wilco is Board member of ZonMW ( The Netherlands Organisation for Health Research and Development ) and started in 2021 as Editor-in-Chief of the new EANS-Eurospine journal “Brain & Spine”.
